Baptism
Step Toward Obedience
The Meaning of Baptism
In the Baptist tradition, baptism is a powerful and symbolic act of obedience for those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ. It serves as a public declaration of your personal salvation and your commitment to follow Him. We believe in baptism by full immersion, where a person is briefly lowered under the water and raised back up again. This beautiful picture illustrates the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Going under the water represents your old life of sin being buried with Christ, and rising from the water symbolizes your new life and resurrection with Him. Baptism itself does not save you—that is a gift of God through faith—but it is a vital first step in your walk with Christ, proclaiming to your church family and the world that you are now united with Him.
The Path to Baptism
The journey to baptism in our church is a simple and joyful process. It begins once you have personally accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. The next step is to share your decision with a pastor or church leader, who can answer any questions you may have. From there, we will schedule your baptism to take place during a worship service, allowing the entire church community to celebrate with you. During the ceremony, the pastor will briefly lower you into the water, baptizing you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It's a moment of immense celebration and a significant milestone in your spiritual journey, marking your official welcome into the family of faith.
